                    A Gay sex scandal in Seaside involving 14 men is reported in the Astoria newspaper. The story is                     printed only after one of the arrested men commits suicide in the Clatsop County Jail.

          Texas
                    Morris Kight organizes the Oscar Wilde Study Circle at Texas Christian University to examine the life                     and works of notable gay author Oscar Wilde. Although little information exists about the study circle

                    itself, Kight goes on to be a leader in the gay rights movement.

          National
                    This is the first use of the pink triangle for gay men in Nazi concentration camps. It doesn’t emerge                     as a symbol until allied forces begin liberating the concentration camps.

                    Ruth Ellis moves to Detroit and begins hosting lesbian and gay house parties.
